Freight-Ready
Checklist for NiMH
Hybrid Batteries
The simple handoff prep list for a cleaner quote, a smoother pickup, and no needless back-and-forth.
Call or text 862-282-3345. Start with a photo, your quantity, and city/state. Have 10 or more NiMH batteries? You get 50% off shipping.
Use this before you request a quote, schedule a pickup, or talk to a freight carrier. It is built for NiMH hybrid battery packs that are already out of the vehicle.
Check the boxes that apply to your lot. If a battery is wet, burned, leaking, badly damaged, or you are not sure what it is, stop and text us a photo first.
Keep this handy on truck day. The cleanest handoffs have the right photos, battery count, contact person, and loading details ready to go.

Confirm it fits our lane.
Battery check
- Confirm the battery is NiMH, not lithium-ion.
- Confirm the battery is already out of the vehicle.
- Count the packs. One battery and a larger lot can be handled differently.
- Note the vehicle it came from, if known. Prius, Civic/Insight, Fusion, Lexus hybrid, and Altima hybrid packs are common examples.
Photo check
- Take one clear photo of each battery type.
- Get the label in the photo when you can.
- Take a wide photo that shows the whole lot.
- If you do not know what you have, do not guess. Text the photo first.
You do not need to diagnose the battery. We just need a clear look at what is there, how many there are, and where they are located.
NiMH is a yes. If it might be lithium-ion, or the chemistry is unclear, pause there. Send a photo before you schedule or move anything.
If the pack came from a Prius, Civic/Insight, Fusion, Lexus hybrid, Altima hybrid, or another common older hybrid, it may be NiMH. The photo and label tell the real story.

Keep the lot organized.
Keep the details close.
Set up the battery lot
- Keep the pack in a dry, stable spot away from loose metal and vehicle traffic.
- Do not stack packs where they can slide, tip, fall, or get crushed.
- Keep loose parts, cables, and hardware separate from the battery.
- Do not take apart, puncture, crush, or try to repair a pack before pickup.
- Make sure someone can point out the batteries when the truck arrives.
Gather pickup or freight details
- Pickup address, contact name, and best phone number.
- Receiving hours, gate notes, dock details, and appointment rules.
- Number of batteries and how they are currently stored.
- Whether a forklift, dock, or ground-level access is available.
- Photos that show the lot and any condition issues.
Every carrier has its own current packaging, pallet, paperwork, and booking rules. Confirm those requirements with the carrier before freight moves. This checklist gets your lot ready for that conversation.
Keep the path clear.
Make sure the crew can get from the truck to the battery lot without playing forklift Tetris.
Keep the right person available.
Have the person who knows the lot available by phone to confirm any question quickly.

No games. Just clear details.
Be ready when the truck arrives
- Keep the lot accessible during the agreed pickup window.
- Clear a reasonable path to the loading area.
- Keep your photos and battery count handy.
- Stay nearby for the on-site testing and final price confirmation.
- Payment is normally by check. Cash can be arranged when needed.

That one message gives us what we need to start looking at your pickup or freight situation. Keep it simple. We will tell you what makes sense from there.
This is a practical readiness checklist, not legal or carrier compliance advice. Carrier requirements can change and control packaging, pallet, paperwork, and booking details for their move.

Safe storage, complete quote.
Store packs safely
- Keep packs dry — out of rain, snow, and standing water.
- Set packs on a stable, level surface so they can't slide, tip, or fall.
- Face all terminals the same direction so packs can't short against each other.
- Keep metal tools, cables, and hardware off and away from the terminals.
- Do not stack packs where they can be crushed or fall.
- Keep packs away from heat sources and direct sun.
- Do not take apart, puncture, or open a pack while it is stored.
Send a complete quote
- Count — how many NiMH packs you have.
- Photos — one clear shot of each battery type, plus a wide shot of the lot.
- Zip — your city/state or zip code for routing.
- Contact name and the best phone number to reach you.
- Condition notes — wet, leaking, damaged, or burned? Say so up front.
- Confirm it's NiMH. If you're unsure, send the photo first.
A pack stored dry, stable, and terminal-safe can't short or get crushed before the truck shows up. And a quote with count, photos, and zip lets Frank price it on the first reply — no needless back-and-forth.
You don't need special permits to hold a few NiMH packs for pickup. You need them dry, stable, terminal-to-terminal clear, and away from damage. Do that and the handling worry is handled.
